Construction Price Index, 3rd Quarter 2023
Highlights

1. The Construction Price Index which stood at 132.9 in the second quarter of 2023 increased by 0.1% to reach 133.0 in the third quarter of 2023.

2. During the third quarter of 2023, an increase was noted in the “Hire of Plant" (1.8%), while the other sub-indices remained unchanged.

3. The “Materials" sub-index remained unchanged mainly due to:
(i) decreases in the prices of steel bars (-1.3%) and timber carpentry (-4.5%), partly offset by an increase in the prices of premixed concrete (1.4%) in July 2023;

(ii) decreases in the prices of steel bars (-1.1%) and laminated flooring (-1.1%) in August 2023; and

(iii) increases in the prices of hardcore (remplissage) (5.2%), aggregate (8.6%) and block (7.3%), partly offset by decreases in the prices of steel bars (-0.8%) and laminated flooring (-1.5%) in September 2023.
