Highlights
Tourist arrivals
1. The number of tourist arrivals for the first semester of 2020 decreased by 53.1% to attain 304,881 compared to 650,082 for the first semester of 2019.
2. Tourist arrivals by air decreased by 56.0% from 625,694 in the first semester of 2019 to 275,445 in the first semester of 2020 while those arriving by sea increased by 20.7% from 24,388 to 29,436, mostly explained by arrivals during the first quarter of 2020.
3. The performance of our main markets, which accounted for 68% of total tourist arrivals for the first semester of 2020, is given in the table below:
