Export Oriented Enterprises (EOE) - 4th Quarter 2025
Highlights
1. EOE consist of enterprises previously operating with an EPZ Certificate as well as enterprises manufacturing goods for exports and holding a registration certificate issued by the ex-Board of Investment.
2. Compared to the third quarter of 2025, total employment in EOE decreased by 210 (-0.7%) from 28,434 to 28,224. Some 490 jobs were lost due to the contraction of workforce in some enterprises whilst 280 jobs were created due to expansion in existing enterprises. Employment of Mauritians decreased by 197 (-1.3%) from 14,935 to 14,738 and that of foreign workers decreased by 13 (-0.1%) from 13,499 to 13,486.
3. EOE exports during the fourth quarter of 2025 amounted to R 11,012 million, 0.4% higher compared to the third quarter of 2025 and 0.6% lower compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. EOE imports during the fourth quarter of 2025 amounted to R 5,625 million, 4.9% lower than the third quarter of 2025 and 7.8% lower than the fourth quarter of 2024.
