Construction Price Index, 1st Quarter 2026
Highlights

1. The Construction Price Index which stood at 147.6 in the fourth quarter of 2025 increased by 2.0% to reach 150.5 in the first quarter of 2026.
2. During the first quarter of 2026, increases were noted in the following sub-indices: “Labour" (2.2%) and “Materials" (2.0%). -
3. The increase of 2.0% in the “Materials" sub-index is explained by: -

(i) Increases in the prices of premixed concrete (4.0%), timber carpentry (0.5%), and aluminium openings (3.9%), partly offset by decreases in the prices of premixed mortar (-0.2%), steel bars (-0.7%) and laminated flooring (-0.8%) in January 2026;

(ii) increases in the prices of hardcore (1.0%), aggregate (0.3%), premixed mortar (2.6%), timber carpentry (1.6%) and plumbing (1.0%), partly offset by lower prices of steel bars (-1.7%) in February 2026; and -
(iii) increases in the prices of hardcore (2.0%), aggregate (3.3%), block (3.9%), timber carpentry (1.3%) and aluminium openings (4.0%) in March 2026. -
