1. Monthly index
Overall index
- - PPI-A, which was 174.6 in June 2023, decreased by 1.5% to reach 172.0 in September 2023. The monthly changes were as follows: July (+1.9%), August (+1.5%) and September (-4.7%).
Sugar cane
- The index for the period July to September 2023 was 267.8 based on the forecasted price of sugar for the crop year 2023-2024. This represents an increase of 1.7% over the price of sugar for the crop year 2022-2023.
Other crop products
- - The index for "Other crop products" which was 145.5 in June 2023, decreased by 0.1% to reach 145.4 in September 2023, mainly due to decreases in the prices of fresh vegetables (tomato) (-6.5%), partly mitigated by increases in the prices of fruits and nuts (banana) (+17.0%).
Animals and animal products
- - The index for the sub-group "Animals and animal products" which was 154.9 in June 2023, decreased by 5.1% to reach 147.0 in September, mainly due to decreases in the prices of poultry (-9.8%), partly mitigated by increases in the prices of eggs (+11.0%).
2. Quarterly index
- - The overall index for the third quarter of 2023 increased by 1.2% when compared to the previous quarter and by 5.7% when compared to the corresponding quarter.21 November 2023
