1. Monthly index

​Overall index

•      -PPI-A, which was 178.5 in March 2023, decreased by 2.2% to reach 174.6 in June 2023. The monthly changes were as follows: April (-1.3%), May (-1.6%) and June (+0.8%).
  
  Sugar cane
      -​ The index for the period July 2022 to June 2023 was 263.2 based on the final price of sugar for the crop year 2022-2023. This represents an increase of 52.4% over the price of sugar for the crop year 2021-2022.

Other crop products

•      - The index for "Other crop products" which was 169.5 in March 2023, decreased by 14.2% to reach 145.5 in June 2023, mainly due to decreases in the prices of fresh vegetables (tomato, creepers, beans, cabbage and other fresh vegetables) (-16.3%) and, fruits and nuts (-18.2%).

Animals and animal products

•        -  The index for the sub-group "Animals and animal products" which was 144.9 in March 2023, increased by 6.9% to reach 154.9 in June 2023, mainly due to increases in the prices of eggs (+56.8%).

  2. Quarterly index

• The overall index for the second quarter of 2023 increased by 0.7% when compared to the previous quarter and by 18.3% when compared to the corresponding quarter.
