Construction Price Index, 4th Quarter 2024
Highlights
1. The Construction Price Index which stood at 141.4 in the third quarter of 2024 increased by 0.1% to reach 141.6 in the fourth quarter of 2024.
2. During the fourth quarter of 2024, increases were noted in the following sub-indices: “Hire of Plant" (0.1%) and “Materials" (0.2%).
3. The increase of 0.2% in the “Materials" sub-index is explained by:
-
(i) increases in prices of premixed mortar (0.3%) and timber carpentry (0.6%), offset by decreases in the prices of steel bars (-0.2%) in October 2024;
(ii) increases in the prices of steel bars (0.4%), timber joinery (0.5%) and tiles and granite (1.7%) in November 2024; and -
(iii) decrease in the prices of steel bars (-0.6%) in December 2024.
