Construction Price Index, 2nd Quarter 2026
Highlights

1. The Construction Price Index which stood at 150.5 in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 2.1% to reach 153.7 in the second quarter of 2026.

2. During the second quarter of 2026, increases were noted in the following sub-indices: “Hire of Plant" (5.0%) and “Materials" (2.7%).

3. The increase of 2.7% in the “Materials" sub-index is explained by:
(i) Increases in the prices of premixed concrete (+1.6%), premixed mortar (+0.3%), steel bars (+2.4%) and timber carpentry (+2.4%) in April 2026; -
(ii) increases in the prices of premixed concrete (+5.2%), premixed mortar (+1.6%), steel bars (+1.2%), timber carpentry (+2.8%), timber joinery (+0.4%), tiles and granite (+0.4%), paint (+1.1%) and electrical installation (+0.9%) in May 2026; and

(iii) increases in the prices of hardcore (+1.2%), aggregate (+0.5%), premixed mortar (+0.3%), steel bars (+0.3%), timber carpentry (+0.8%) and tiles and granite (+1.5%) in June 2026.
