Consumer Price Index - 4th Quarter 2024
Highlights
1. The Consumer Price Index, which stood at 103.4 in September 2024, registered a net increase of 0.1 point (or +0.1%) to reach 103.5 in December 2024.
2. The main contributors for the net increase in the CPI from September to December 2024 were:
- higher prices of cooking oil (+0.1 point);
- higher prices of some medicinal products (+0.1 point) and higher clinic fees

- higher prices of some prepared foods (+0.1 point);

- higher prices of other goods and services (+0.2 point);

partly offset by

- lower prices of whisky (-0.1 point);

- lower interest rates on housing loan (-0.1 point);

- lower prices of gasolene (-0.3 point).

3. The headline inflation rate was 3.6% for year 2024 compared to 7.0% for year 2023.
4. The headline inflation rate excluding 'Alcoholic beverages and tobacco' was 3.6% for year 2024 compared to 6.6% for year 2023.
