2.         Government expenditure on Social Security and Welfare is not yet available for the period July 2016 to June 2017. Latest available figures indicate that Government spent Rs. 31,185 million on Social Security and Welfare for the period July 2015 to June 2016, representing 29% of total Government expenditure and 7.4% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at market prices.
