Construction Price Index - 2nd Quarter 2024
Highlights

1. The Construction Price Index which stood at 136.7 in the first quarter of 2024 increased by 0.4% to reach 137.3 in the second quarter of 2024.
2. During the second quarter of 2024, increases were noted in the “Materials" (0.7%) sub-index only. -
3. The increase of 0.7% in the “Materials" sub-index is explained by:

(i) increases in the prices of premixed concrete (0.9%), and tiles and granite (1.9%) in April 2024;

(ii) increases in the prices of hardcore (remplissage) (4.1%), aggregate (0.4%) and steel bars (0.3%), partly offset by a decrease in the prices of tiles and granite (-0.5%) in May 2024; and
-
(iii) increase in the prices of timber carpentry (2.6%), partly offset by a decrease in the prices of steel bars (-0.3%) in June 2024.
