Consumer Price Index - 2nd Quarter 2025
Highlights
1. The Consumer Price Index, which stood at 106.8 in March 2025, registered a net increase of 1.4 points (or +1.3%) to reach 108.2 in June 2025.
2. The main contributors for the net increase in CPI from March 2025 to June 2025 were:

-higher prices of soft drinks (+0.2 point), vegetables (+0.1 point) and other food products (+0.1 point);
-
- higher prices of cigarettes (+0.4 point), beer (+0.3 point), rum (+0.1 point) and whisky (+0.1 point);
-
- higher prices of prepared meals in snacks (+0.1 point);
-
- higher prices of some other goods and services (+0.1 point);
partly offset by -
- lower prices of ginger (-0.1 point).
3. The headline inflation rate for the twelve months ending June 2025 worked out to 2.9%, compared to 4.5% for the twelve months ending June 2024.
4. The headline inflation rate excluding “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" for the twelve months ending June 2025 worked out to 3.2%, compared to 4.1% for the twelve months ending June 2024.
