4th Quarter 2014
Highlights
Export Price Index (EPI)
1.      The EPI dropped by 0.6% from 105.9 in the third quarter of 2014 to 105.2 in the fourth quarter of 2014, mainly due to a decrease in the prices of “Food and live animals” (-2.2%).

2.      Compared to price levels in the corresponding quarter of 2013, the index fell by 1.4%, explained mainly by a price decrease in “Food and live animals” (-13.5%), partly offset by an increase in the prices of “Miscellaneous manufactured articles” (+6.1%).

Import Price Index (IPI)
3.      The IPI went down by 4.1% from 121.4 in the third quarter of 2014 to 116.4 in the fourth quarter of 2014. That was the effect of decreases in the prices of “Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials” (-15.0%), “Food and live animals” (-2.3%) and “Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material” (-2.1%).

4.      Compared to the corresponding period of 2013, the index went down by 3.4%, mainly as a result of decreases in the prices of “Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials”           (-17.8%) and “Food and live animals” (-1.2%), partly offset by an increase in the prices of “Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material” (+3.4%).
