Highlights
1. The PPI-M, which stood at 134.3 in June 2013, registered a decrease of 0.7 point (-0.5%) over the third quarter to reach 133.6 in September 2013. On a monthly basis, the index gained 0.3 point (+0.2%) in July, remained unchanged in August and lost 1.0 point (-0.7%) in September 2013.
- The average PPI-M for the third quarter of 2013 was 134.3, up by 6.4 points or 4.9% compared to 127.9 for the third quarter of 2012. This was mainly due to increases in the producer prices of the following:
(i) Wearing apparel (+8.2%);
(ii) Food products and beverages (+6.2%);
(iii) Chemicals and chemical products (+6.1);
(iv) Furniture (+4.7%).
