Construction Price Index - 4th Quarter 2017

Highlights
 
 
1.                  The Construction Price Index, which stood at 114.9 as at September 2017, increased by 1.2% or 1.4 points during the 4th quarter of 2017 to 116.3 in December 2017.
 
2.                  On a monthly basis, the overall index remained unchanged in October, registered an increase of 1.3% in November. No further change was observed in December. 
 
3.                  As a consequence of the above changes, the “Materials” sub-index increased to 114.7 in November 2017 due to the following price increases: hardcore (4.3%), sand (4.9%), aggregate (6.0%) and blocks (14.0%).
 
4.                  During the fourth quarter of 2017, no change was registered in the “Labour”, ‘Hire of plant” and “Transport” sub-indices.
